European Enterprise Platform Transformation
Challenge
A multinational services group needed to modernise its core enterprise platforms — ERP, HCM, workforce management and recruitment — across many European countries with divergent local processes, while governing a broad transformation portfolio affecting more than 120,000 employees.
Role
European transformation portfolio officer within the group PMO leadership: accountable for portfolio governance, programme risk management, benefit delivery and the European technology roadmap, and leading the enterprise platform procurements end to end.
Approach
Requirements were mapped through workshops with business representatives across multiple countries and consolidated into a unified functional and non-functional specification — including embedded business-continuity, availability and recovery obligations. The procurement ran through structured vendor evaluation, MSA and SoW negotiation, and implementation-partner selection, with decision-support materials presented to divisional leadership. The European governance methodology was subsequently scaled to divisions outside Europe.
Outcome
Enterprise platform decisions taken on a consolidated, cross-country requirements baseline with contractual resilience obligations; a governed European portfolio with transparent executive reporting; and a programme governance methodology adopted beyond its original scope.
